I have seen quite a lot of AdSense publishers posted in different forums stating that their AdSense accounts were banned by Google due to fraudulent clicks. Most of these people claim that they are innocent and have never clicked on their on AdSense ads. So they have no idea why click fraud can occur on their AdSense accounts. The truth is click fraud can happen in several ways and not necessarily caused by the AdSense publisher himself/herself who accidentally clicked on his/her own AdSense.Generally, people get banned from Adsense because they attempt deceptive means to get more clicks. So, here I am explaining all those mistakes that you should avoid.
1) Do not use autosurf programs to promote your websites that contain AdSense. Autosurf programs can substantially increase your website traffic or hits, AdSense page view and ecpm but people who surf your site only to earn advertising credit or other type of incentives. So the traffic generated from autosurf programs aren't counted as real and thus against AdSense policies.
2) Multiple accounts – Adsense allows only one account with a particular address and a person name. So never try to register multiple accounts with your name, you will simply get banned.
3) Modifying the code – The JavaScript code that you use for displaying Ads, Links or Search Results must be same as provided by Google. There are enough means of Adsense optimization & customizations available to change the color, background or border to suit your needs. Do whatever you want to do outside the code, never fiddle within the ad or th
e search code. They know it when you do. The search code has more limitations to color and placement, but you should adhere to the rules. The code may stop working and violates the TOS.
4) Modifying Google queries - If you are displaying Google search box on your web page, than don’t edit or filter the queries generated from the Search Box. And search queries must originate from individual users inputting data into a Search Box.
5) Displaying ads on pages that have look alike ads – Any other advertisement/content on the web page should not be same as Google advertisement. It’s because the end user may get confuse with Google ads. Never run such ads or services on the same site which offer Google Adsense competition in their field. Never try to create link structures resembling the Adsense ads. Never use other competitive search tools on the same pages which have Adsense powered Google search. They do allow affiliate or limited-text links. Google has allowed you to run contextual advertising like Yahoo ads, Chitika etc provided the ads do not resemble Adsense ads.
6) Disclosing Google Confidential Information – You should not disclose the click-through rates and other statistics that you get from Adsense report. But you can disclose your total payment amount.
7) Clicking on your own ads – This is one of the Prime reasons behind account termination. Google always monitors IP address of the end user, so never try this trick.
8) Fraudulent means to generate more clicks – Asking friends to click on your ads, joining click exchange sites, giving incentives to click on ads, using robots or other automated query tools or unauthorized use of search engine optimization services will only result in termination of your Adsense account. .Keep a check if your family or children are busy increasing your income by clicking your ads and indirectly trying to stop your income. Dont even think of offering incentives for clicks, using automated clicking tools, or other deceptive software. Adsense is very smart to detect fraudulent clicks. Check the ads which appear on your pages by the Google Preview tool if required.
9) Modifying the Ads – You should not edit, truncate or change the order of information contained inside any Ad.
10) Modifying the display page – The web page accessed by the user after clicking on an Ad should be displayed in full and complete manner.
11) Displaying Ads on Illegal site – The website on which you are displaying Google Ads that should not contain any pornographic, hate-related, violent, or illegal content.
12) Using Ads on other than your website – You should only activate Ads, Links on your own web site or blogs.
13) Redirecting user away from advertiser page – The end user must access the same page going through Ads from your site, as he could have access by going directly to the Advertiser Page. So, don’t intersperse any content between the Ad and the Advertiser Page.
14) Promoting AdSense Referrals - To use the Google AdSense Referrals feature, you have to implement Referral Buttons on your web page. But never promote that referral event by any other means.
15) If possible, do not involve in any traffic exchange networks and programs. If you have join one or more programs or networks that can make you a steady AdSense commission, you should start worry about your AdSense account as this could mean that members of the program(s) were clicking each other AdSense ads all the while whether intentionally or unintentionally. As soon as Google detected a group of people were clicking each other AdSense, many of the members AdSense account in the program will be suspended. Also traffic exchange can be another mean to artificially generate tons of unreal website traffic or hits and boost up AdSense page view & ecpm and it is strictly prohibited by Google .
16) Do not join AdSense exchange networks. They are similar to traffic exchange programs except members are participate just for clicking each other AdSense. This should be a guaranteed way to be banned by Google.
17) Read all the Google AdSense policies at http://www.google.com/adsense to see whether you have against any policies and make the necessary modification.
18)Keep track of your content - So Adsense is not allowed on several non content pages. But it is also not allowed on several content pages too. Do not add it on web pages with MP3, Video, News Groups, and Image Results. Also exclude any pornographic, hate-related, violent, or illegal content.
19)One Account suffices for multiple websites - You do not need to create 5 accounts for 5 different websites. One account will do. If you live in the fears that if one account is closed down for violation of TOS, believe me they will close all accounts when they find out. You can keep track of clicks by using channels with real time statistics. They will automatically detect the new site and display relevant ads.
20)Do not confuse with adjacent images - It was a common policy to increase CTR by placing same number of images as the number of text ads, which falsely gave the impression that the text ads represented an explanation to these images. Inserting a small space or a line between the images and ads is not allowed. Make sure that the ads and images are not arranged in a way that could easily mislead or confuse your visitors.
